Veteran producer Parvathaneni Mallikarjuna Rao passed away this morning at 7 AM at Medwin Hospital in Hyderabad. The producer was suffering from illness for quite some time and finally took his last breadth this morning at Medwin Hospital. He was 76. He is survived with his wife and two sons. Born on July 27th, 1935 in Krishna district, Mallikarjun Rao entered into film industry in 1965.
He established Madhu Pictures, Bharathi International and Sunandini Pictures and produced several films in Telugu and Hindi. Mallikarjun Rao worked with top heroes like A Nageswara Rao, Kanta Rao, Sobhan Babu, Krishnam Raju and many more in Telugu and Bollywood stars like Jitendra, Sanjay Kumar, Vinod Khanna, Kamal Haasan, Anil Kapoor and so on. His first production venture was ‘Jwaladeepa Rahasyam’ starring Kanta Rao and Vitalacharya. Later he produced super hit films like Iddaru Monagaallu, Machi Kutumbam, Manchi Mitrulu, Inti Gauravam, Inti Kodalu, etc.
He produced several hit movies like Kantharao starrerJwaladweepa Rahasyam (1965) and Iddaru Mongallu (1967),Akkineni starrer Manchi Kutumbam (1968), Shoban Babu's Manchi Mitrulu (1969) and Inti Gowravam (1970), Krishna's Nenante Nene (1968), Inti Kodalu (1974) etc.
In Hindi too, he had many hits including Jitendra starrer Himmat (1970), Dharmendra and Rekha starrer Keemat (1973), Gulzar directed Mausam, K Viswnath directed Sanjog (1985) and Eeshwar (1989).
This apart he also made films like ‘Himmath, Mousam, Sanjog, Keemath, Yetho Kamaal Hogaya, Ye Desh, Aada Din Aadhi Raath, etc., in Hindi. In 1976, his film 'Mousam' bagged the national award.
సుప్రసిద్ధ చలనచిత్ర నిర్మాత పర్వతనేని మల్లికార్జునరావు (76) హైదరాబాద్ లోని ఓ ప్రైవేటు ఆసుపత్రిలో 21 ఫిబ్రవరి 2012 న కన్నుమూశారు. ఆయన గత కొంత కాలంగా అనారోగ్యంతో బాధపడుతున్నారు. మల్లికార్జునరావు స్వస్థలం విజయవాడ. ఆయనకు బార్య, ఇద్దరు కుమారులు ఉన్నారు.
మధు పిక్చర్స్, భారతీ ఇంటర్నేషనల్, సునందినీ పిక్చర్స్ సంస్థలపై ఆయన పలు విజయవంతమైన చిత్రాలు నిర్మించారు. సినిమా రంగంపై మొదట్నుండి ఆయనకు ఆసక్తి. అందుకే ‘కొడుకులు - కోడళ్ళు’ అనే డబ్బింగ్ చిత్రంతో చిత్ర నిర్మాణం లోకి అడుగు పెట్టారు. 1965 లో కాంతారావు హీరోగా ‘జ్వాలాద్వీప రహస్యం’ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఆ తర్వాత అక్కినేనితో ‘మంచి కుటుంబం’, కృష్ణతో మహాబలుడు, ఇద్దరు మొనగాళ్ళు, నేనంటే నేనే, శోభన్ బాబుతో మంచిమిత్రులు, ఇంటి గౌరవం, కృష్ణంరాజు తో ‘ఇంటి కోడలు’ చిత్రాలను నిర్మించారు. 1970 లో హిందీ చిత్రరంగంలోకి ప్రవేశించి ‘సితార’ చిత్రాన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఆ తర్వాత జితేంద్ర తో హిమ్మత్, సంజోగ్ చిత్రాలను, ధర్మేంద్ర తో ‘కీమత్’, వినోద్ ఖన్నాతో ‘ఆదా దిన్ ఆధీ రాత్’, కమల్ హాసన్ తో ఏతో కమాల్ హోగయా, ఏ దేశ్, అనిల్ కపూర్ తో ‘ఈశ్వర్’ చిత్రాలు నిర్మించారు. సంజయ్ కుమార్ హీరోగా ఆయన నిర్మించిన ‘మౌసమ్’ చిత్రానికి రాష్ట్రపతి రజతకమలం లభించింది.
మల్లికార్జునరావు మరణం పట్ల తెలుగు చలనచిత్ర నిర్మాతల మండలి సంతాపం వ్యక్తం చేసింది. ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు పలువురు సినీరంగ ప్రముఖులు సంతాపం తెలియజేశారు.
